The position of Durability Validation Engineer is accountable for developing and executing the DVP&R by planning all physical and analytical validation activities, coordinating test timing and results delivery with functional groups, and conducting both durability related physical testing and FE predictive analyses, for engine exhaust After Treatment Systems.

The position is responsible for liaising with the customer to coordinate and develop validation strategy and report results of all validation activities through effective management of the DVP&R. The position will also require coordinating with functional groups to ensure the planning and completion of validation activities related to exhaust converters and mufflers.

Responsibilities include the coordination of RLDA (Road Load Data Acquisition), signal processing and data analysis; and defining, executing and reporting on several types of durability related tests: component fatigue tests; electro-dynamic shaker tests; MAST (Multi-axial Simulation Table) tests; thermal cycles tests; and structural NVH tests. Additional responsibilities include the translation of test specifications into test work orders, review of test setup and implementation, design and development of test fixtures, and optimization of test workflow. The position also requires coordination of CAE activities; planning and managing structural and NVH related FE analyses; writing work orders for executing CFD analyses and applying CAE tools to support problem solving initiatives.

Responsibilities extend to managing the verification of performance of manufactured components, in support of After Treatment System program launches.



Required Skills


B.S. Engineering
2 years experience in a related field
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Project management skill in dynamic and multi-tasking environment.
Knowledge of durability, mechanical testing, CAE analysis applied to stress, strain and vibration.
Must have the ability to utilize problem solving tools and development methods.
Demonstrated experience to develop and manage DFMEA, DVP&R and/or exhaust reliability a plus.
Exhaust manufacturing experience and knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma principles a plus.. Apply now!
